It runs the tools for you.

"Read ChatGPT and show me what sits in its hidden keyword field." The assistant finds the app, reads its keywords, marks the hidden ones and answers with a table. Every number came from Apple; the model never estimates.

  • Knows which app is yours once you follow it
  • Shows every step it ran, with a link to the report
  • Same tools in Claude, Cursor and Codex through MCP

Finding the app · ChatGPT · OpenAI

Reading the competitor · 50 phrases searched · 13 rank · 10 hidden

Ten phrases rank for ChatGPT although neither the name nor the subtitle carries them, so they sit in its keyword field. The four with the most demand:

PhrasePop.Diff.PositionWhere
ai assistant free2579#4hidden
chatgpt video978#2hidden
google assistant994#6hidden

ai assistant free is the one to track: real demand (25) and ChatGPT only at #4, so page one is reachable for an assistant app with a clean listing. Full report, 13 phrases →

Why it's different

An estimate looks like a number. Apple's score is one.

Most keyword tools model "search volume" from downloads and a guessed conversion. We ask Apple, one phrase at a time, and show you both so you can see where the guess was wrong.

Phrase What a modelled tool shows What Apple says So
chatgpt 41,000/mo est.
90
Both agree. The head term is real.
ai chat 9,800/mo est.
37
Half the demand the model promised.
send large files 12,400/mo est.
≤5
Nobody types this. A whole column of guesses said they do.
chatgpt plus no data
65
Missed by the model, ranked #1 by the app.
assistant 2,300/mo est.
9
Small, but it is in the hidden field, so it counts.

Popularity is the 0–100 Apple gives advertisers, one phrase per call, so ≤5 means ≤5.

Candidates come from the competitor, not from your typing: its listing, Apple's hints, its neighbours.

Hidden field phrases are marked one by one, with the reasoning next to each.

The same numbers, inside the AI you already use.

An MCP server puts every report within reach of Claude, Cursor, Codex or VS Code: read a competitor, score a phrase, compare two apps, all from the chat you are already in. And on every report, a chat of our own that has read the whole table before you ask.

  • read_competitor — every phrase an app ranks for, hidden ones marked; starts a run when there is no fresh one
  • score_phrase — Apple's popularity and first-page difficulty for any phrase
  • compare_apps — where you rank against a competitor on its own phrases

Works with Claude · Cursor · Codex · VS Code and any MCP client. Runs started from an AI count like runs started here.

Do I need to connect my own app?

No. You read competitors, and any public App Store app can be read. Nothing to install, no App Store Connect access, no API key of yours.

Where does popularity come from?

From the Apple Ads keyword suggestions endpoint, the same 0–100 Apple shows advertisers. It is store-wide, not per country; difficulty and position are the per-country numbers.

What does ≤5 mean?

Five is Apple's floor: any string you invent scores five. It means "no data", not "low demand". A dash means Apple returned no row for that phrase at all. Neither is ever shown as a number.

How do you know a phrase is hidden?

Apple indexes the name, the subtitle and the keyword field, and does not index the description. If an app ranks for a phrase whose words are in neither the name nor the subtitle, allowing for plurals and prefixes, the phrase is in the keyword field. When we could not read the subtitle we say "unknown" rather than guess.

Which stores and languages?

22 storefronts and 15 listing languages, on every plan. Japanese and other non-Latin scripts work but find fewer candidates; we say so on the report.

What about Google Play?

Play keyword positions and first-page difficulty are in the free tools today, and your Play apps join daily tracking next. Google publishes no search counts, so we will never show a Play "volume"; every one you have seen elsewhere is a model.
