Where does your app rank on Google Play?

Type a phrase and a country. The Play first page in order, rating counts of the top ten, a difficulty on the same 0–100 scale as the App Store, and your package's position. Read from the store page itself, nothing estimated, free.

How it works

01

Phrase, country, your package id

The package id is optional; with it, your row is highlighted and your position is a number.

02

The search page, then ten app pages

The search page gives the order, names and star ratings. The app pages of the top ten give rating counts and the installs bucket.

03

Compare with the App Store

The same phrase on iOS is one click away, with difficulty on the same scale, so one listing strategy can cover both stores.

No API, no key, no estimates

Google publishes no rank API and no search volume. The public search and app pages are enough for rank, ratings and installs bucket, and that is all we show.

Difficulty that means the same thing

The top ten rating counts on a log scale, exactly as on the App Store, so a phrase can be compared across stores.

In the assistant and over MCP

play_keyword returns the same first page as data. Ask "where is com.example.app for habit tracker in Germany" and get a number.

Google Play keyword rank checker, in practice

Google Play has no keyword API and publishes no search volume, so most Play keyword tools estimate. aso.best does the one thing that does not need an estimate: it reads the search page for the phrase in the country you pick, exactly as a person would see it, and records the apps in order with their names, developers and star ratings. For the top ten it then reads each app's page for the rating count and the installs bucket Google prints there.

From those ten rating counts comes a difficulty on the same log scale we use for the App Store, plus a separate top-three strength. That matters when the same app ships on both stores: a phrase that is hard on iOS and easy on Play, or the other way round, changes where you spend your title characters first. Every Play page links to the same phrase on the App Store, and the assistant can read both in one question.

If you give your package id, your row is highlighted and your position is shown as a number, or as "not on the page" if you are not in the first thirty. Reads are paced and cached, a search a day and an app page a week, so repeat checks are instant. Tracking Play positions daily, the way My keywords does for the App Store, is next.

Questions

Which countries?
The same 22 as the App Store tools, using the country parameter Google Play uses for its own pages.
Why only thirty apps?
That is what the search page carries without scrolling. Beyond the first page almost nobody installs.
Is this against Google's terms?
We read public pages at a slow pace and cache them, the way a browser does. No account, no automation of the store, nothing written.
