We build FileFast. We read WeTransfer with this tool and found phrases it ranks first page for that FileFast does not rank for at all. The ones marked hidden appear nowhere in WeTransfer's name or subtitle: they live in its keyword field. A dash means FileFast is not in the top 50. US store, 2026-09-09.

Say what you want done

One chat reads a competitor, scores phrases, tracks the ones you pick and saves the subtitle to App Store Connect.

Astro alternative for ASO, in practice: the long version

Astro and aso.best agree on the important thing: Apple publishes enough to do keyword research without estimates, so both read Apple Search Ads popularity and the live store instead of modelling a "search volume". If you already track your App Store keywords in Astro, the numbers here will look familiar.

The difference is what sits around the keyword table. aso.best reads a competitor as a whole: its listing, Apple's search hints and the apps ranking beside it become candidates, each is searched live, and the phrases that rank although they appear in neither the name nor the subtitle are marked as the hidden keyword field. That is the report you cannot build by typing keywords in one at a time. Around it: Google Play tracking and top charts, public pages for every app with chart positions per country, a daily reading of whether the store moved, an App Store Connect editor that saves name, subtitle, keywords and what's new for every language of your app with Apple's counters, review replies, and a chat with 33 tools that does the running, also available as an MCP server in Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT on every plan, free included.

On price: Track at €6 is below Astro's $9 if all you need is daily positions for your apps on both stores. Pro at €9 (launch price) is Astro's price, and buys the competitor reports, the editor, the translations and the chat on top. Astro keeps two things we do not have: a native Mac app and DeepL translations of your listing. If those matter more than Play and the hidden field, stay with Astro.

Questions, answered.

Is there a Mac or iOS app?

Not yet: both are next on the list. aso.best is a web app and already works on a phone, so everything is in your pocket today.

Does it cover Google Play?

Yes: follow Play apps, track keyword positions on the Play search page, browse Play top charts per country, and read the daily Play volatility. Play has no popularity score, because Google publishes none.

Is the comparison fair?

It is what we found on tryastro.app on 10 September 2026. Tell us if something changed and we will correct it.
